What’s the difference between a videographer and a production company?

Videographers are ideal for smaller projects that require a single operator. As a full-service production company, we bring a dedicated director, cinematographer, and broader team to deliver more complex productions. This allows for a more tailored creative approach, stronger direction of on-screen talent, and a higher level of technical and creative execution. We also offer standalone videography services when appropriate.

Do you create AI videos?

Yes. We actively integrate generative AI into our workflow and have been doing so for over two years. In August 2025, we created our first full product video using entirely AI-driven tools. We’re excited to help clients explore this emerging production approach.

The Story:

Our sister company, Arterial Films, produced an ambitious, high-concept dystopian thriller set in a near-future Australia. To realize the grit and scale of this post-pandemic world, they engaged Watchpost to manage the entire post-production ecosystem for their debut feature.

The Mission:

To provide a rock-solid end-to-end pipeline for an independent feature. This meant wrangling terabytes of ARRI RAW footage, providing daily turnovers for a fast-moving production, and managing a rigorous 8-month schedule that included the offline edit, VFX, and a cinema-grade finish.

The Gig:

Watchpost rolled up our sleeves and jumped into the trenches for an intensive 8-month engagement. We served as the technical and creative heart of the film’s completion — handling everything from the offline edit, to over 100 complex VFX shots and the final grade. We managed the high-stakes deliverables for Global Constellation (International Sales) and Rialto Distribution (ANZ), ensuring the film met the exacting standards of global broadcasters.

The Result:

A bold, 118-minute feature film that debuted to a sell-out crowd at the Adelaide Film Festival. The Run was nominated for Best Feature at the South Australian Screen Awards, selected for the "AFF Goes to Cannes" initiative, and successfully secured distribution through Rialto, with a nationwide Australian theatrical release slated for May 14th 2026.
